Privacy Policy

Your camera
Uncoil uses your camera during movement sessions to count reps. Video frames are analysed in real time on your Mac using Apple's on-device Vision framework, then immediately discarded. Camera footage is never recorded, never stored, and never transmitted, by anyone, including us. The camera is only active while a session panel is open, and macOS shows its camera indicator whenever it's in use. You can decline camera access entirely and complete sessions with a manual Done button.
No network access
Uncoil ships without the macOS network entitlement. This is not a
promise of good behaviour. It is a technical restriction enforced by
Apple's App Sandbox: the app is incapable of making network connections.
You can verify this yourself by inspecting the app's entitlements
(codesign -d --entitlements - /Applications/Uncoil.app) and
confirming that no network permission is present.
What stays on your Mac
- Your settings (schedule, tone, exercises, voice preferences).
- Your session history and streak, stored as a local file.
- Nothing else. There is nothing else.
Deleting the app deletes this data with it.
What we collect
Nothing. We run no servers, set no identifiers, and receive no information from the app: no usage analytics, no crash reports, no telemetry of any kind. If you purchase Uncoil through the Mac App Store, Apple processes that transaction under Apple's privacy policy; we receive only the anonymous, aggregated sales reporting Apple provides to all developers.
Children
Uncoil collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Given the app cannot collect data, we do not expect it to change in substance.
